A Parent’s Guide To Good Parenting
It is every parents desire to give their child the best. For a parent, a child is the most wonderful gift they have ever received.
Along with all the joy and happiness a child could add to the family, challenges on proper rearing and nurturing of their child is one of the most difficult tasks every parents must face. It’s never easy to be a “good parent”, but, there are always ways you could do to help you out. Let me tell you some.
Start by being a good example- Children learns from what they see from the people they admire most. A child who grows up with parents full of love and respect learns to be compassionate towards other people. Where as, a child who grows up in an environment full of hatred, violence and constant arguments are more likely to be antisocial and indifferent towards other people. Because, a child learns by example. Teach a child to give and he will give love. Teach a child to hate and he will learn to hate the world. So be a good example towards your child today.
Always give time for your child- For busy parents out there who rarely spend time at home, please do find some time to play with your child. Take some time to sit down and create a bonding moment with your child. This could help them feel that they are loved and not neglected by their loved mommies and daddies. Your child needs to feel belonging, and you can only give this when you give time to your child.
Discover their world- A child’s world is one of the most fascinating discovery every parent could ever discover. Every parent out there has probably gone through with childhood and for once, they knew how it feels to be a child. A worry free world. A world where life is innocent, where life is directed towards fun and enjoyment. It’s not bad if you try to join this world again. Be a kid and walk with him through out the growing years. Discover new things with your child.
Listen and communicate- Your child needs to feel some security, and in a child’s mind, their parents are their very own source of security. Listen attentively to what your child has to say. What happened to his day while you were away? The things he discovered today. Their new toys. Their new friends. Listen to these stories. You’ll never know how happy your child is when they know that someone out there is always ready to listen to them. Communicate with their thoughts. Listen to their intuitions.
